A
little know secret is that the
ORIGINAL cover to Green Arrow #1 was, in fact, the piece of art that was ultimately
used for the cover to Green Arrow #2. The sketch was approved but, once I finished
the painting, it was decided that this image spoiled the last-page surprise of
the first issue comeback tale. I was only told that we needed a new cover to
the first issue--“something iconic” being the only criteria. So,
I decided to give them a real variety to choose from and turned in six finished
sketches. Typically, I only turn in one sketch for any given cover but I thought
this would be fun and help me get a feel for the character and just depicting
archery in general. |
